Retirement?
As I mentioned in my last post I discussed whether retirement was boring or not. As you have noticed in newspapers and news reports on television all news is about Texas school budget and what cuts should be made. Oh ,I am so glad that I retired when I did. I have a daughter that is still teaching and is not very happy with some of the things the legislation wants to cut. It has been a very hard year for her because there have been so many changes already this year. I would like to hear some of you teachers in Texas post what you think about what is happening .

Prices, Practicality or Obsession?
I (Zelda Orr) grew up in the 60′s and 70′s when fashions and trends weren’t hot items. Maybe I am wrong about that era because I had an older brother and a younger brotherand wasn’t influenced by any females. Maybe my mother wasn’t big on fashion and trends. She was more of a tomboy and her family of eight children couldn’t afford luxuries. They were more concerned about surviving and I was more concerned about getting out of school, buying a car and getting away from home. After leaving home and getting married I was blessed with two daughters who get really wound up over fashionable brands that give the perfect touch to their wardrobe. Having that perfect touch for them has become an obsession. Even today with three granddaughters who are at the age where fashion and trends have become the ”in thing” and an “awesome” part of their everyday wardrobe.
